Reactive Dog I PDF Print E-mail

Does your dog "react" to other dogs? Does he bark and lunge at the end of the leash when you pass other dogs? Is he reactive or aggressive with people? Learn how to desensitize your dog to approaching strange dogs, grab your dog's collar without getting bitten, teach your dog to perform canine calming signals and more!  Saturdays, 1pm; classes run for 6 weeks (first class is without dogs). Cost is $200. Pre-registration is required. 2 handlers per dog is encouraged.  Dates of class are: January 14, 21, 28, Feb 4, 11, 18.  Call Masterpeace Dog Training (508-553-9300) to register.

This class teaches the "Click to Calm" methods developed by Emma Parsons and used to great effect to change the minds and behavior of the many reactive dogs who've taken these classes over the years they've been held at Masterpeace.

Control Unleashed PDF Print E-mail

This 6 week course will help to create a focused and confident dog that can work around lots of other distractions, especially other dogs.  Class will be held Saturdays at 3:30 pm.

This class is not for the "aggressive" dog, but for the "reactive" dog that loses his concentration in a "doggy" type environment (no biting dogs, please) - in other words, they lack self-control when they encounter another dog.  Games and exercises will take place during class to help the dog practice attention and teach him to think through his arousal.

This class comes directly from Leslie McDevitt's "Control Unleashed" book.  Dogs and handlers who sign up for this course should have taken a basic obedience training class using clickers; if it has been awhile, or you have never used a clicker to train, you will need to take a couple of private lessons to learn about clicker training.  Cost for this course will be $160 and there will be a limited number of sign-ups taken.  Dates of class are: January 14, 21, 28, Feb 4, 11, 18.  For more information or to register, please call 508-553-9300.
